Syskron GmbH, part of the Krones Group, seeks an AI Developer to design and implement machine-oriented AI solutions and robust control applications for industrial use. You will work across disciplines to integrate AI into practical operations, with a focus on data-driven control logic and scalable software.

The role spans collaboration with global partners and ongoing field testing. You will leverage Python, ML frameworks and edge computing, while shaping data architectures and delivery

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics or equivalent with technical specialization.
• Proven experience as an AI Developer in industrial/mechanical engineering contexts.
• Strong knowledge of Python, ML frameworks and edge applications.
• Excellent understanding of data flows, architectures and processing for AI-driven control logic.
• Ability to guide and motivate an interdisciplinary team of engineers and CS specialists.
• Experience coordinating and evaluating work packages with partners.

Your tasks

• As part of an interdisciplinary team, you work cross-functionally to bring machine-oriented AI solutions from concept and implementation through to integration into practical operations.
• Your primary focus is on designing and implementing complex control applications and ensuring their successful handover into productive operational use.
• Your contribution to industrial control applications lies in combining AI and control engineering expertise with a comprehensive understanding of computational logic and data flows.
• In close collaboration with colleagues, you drive technical developments and help build understanding of new control approaches. You prepare technical information in a clear and accessible way and communicate it effectively to internal and external development partners, ranging from highly technical details to broader concepts.
• You stay up to date with the latest research and introduce new technologies in the field of machine-oriented AI into the company.
• You are eager to conduct initial product tests in the field and support troubleshooting and problem resolution during ongoing operations.
• You consider all aspects of system security, performance, storage, incident management, usage, backup and recovery for databases and AI applications, as well as the ongoing operational costs associated with your AI solutions.
• You develop software with a strong focus on code quality, ensuring that it is reliable, maintainable, efficient, secure, thoroughly documented, and well tested.
• You are passionate about mechanical engineering and industrial applications and want to apply AI where it directly improves machine functions, control logic, and industrial processes.

Your profile

• You hold a degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or an equivalent qualification with a relevant technical specialization.
• You have proven experience as an AI Developer, preferably in the context of industrial or mechanical engineering applications.
• You possess strong knowledge of Python, machine learning frameworks, and the development of edge applications.
• You have an excellent understanding of data flows, data architectures, and data processing, and you are able to actively shape and communicate these relationships in the design and implementation of AI solutions for control logic.
• You are capable of technically guiding and motivating an interdisciplinary team consisting of experts from mechanical engineering, automation engineering, process engineering, and computer science.
• You have experience coordinating, structuring, and technically evaluating work packages with internal and external development partners.
• Knowledge of cloud and edge applications, Databricks or similar tools, containers and Kubernetes applications, as well as reinforcement learning and related technologies, is considered an advantage.
• You communicate effectively in both German and English as you are fluent in both languages.
