University assistant without doctorate (m/f/d)

  • Duration of Contract: Temporary employment, 4 years

Your Responsibilities

  • Research in bio-based recyclable polymers, sustainable catalysis, and green chemistry
  • Development of catalytic methods for converting biomass into polymer building blocks
  • Synthesis and characterization of known and novel recyclable bio-based polymers and composites
  • Utilization of polymer characterization instruments (e.g., TGA/DSC, DMA) in collaboration with research partners
  • Study of the thermal and mechanical properties of renewable epoxy amine thermosets based on chemical structure
  • Investigation of depolymerization behavior of chemically recyclable thermosets
  • Scaling polymer synthesis from gram to multi-gram quantities
  • Testing scaled polymers with industrial partners for further development
  • Writing a relevant dissertation at the University of Graz
  • Independent teaching and participation in teaching and examination tasks within the institute of chemistry
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational, administrative, and evaluation activities

Your Profile

  • Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with a focus on materials science
  • Experience in synthesis and characterization of polymers, including bio-based variants
  • Knowledge of polymer synthesis and characterization techniques
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
  • German language skills are an advantage
  • Strong commitment and motivation for scientific research
  • High sense of responsibility and teamwork skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate
  • Motivation to conduct research at the interface of academia and industry

We offer an annual gross salary of €52,007.20 for a full-time position.
