Your Responsibilities

  • Independent as well as team research in connection with the FWF START project “The emotions we speak: predicting language change from speakers’ emotional attitudes to grammatical structures using formal linguistic tools”
  • Independent planning, conducting and evaluation of scientific experiments
  • Publication activities related to the FWF START research project
  • Writing a PhD thesis in psycholinguistics on a topic related to the FWF START project

Your Profile

  • Completed diploma or master’s degree in Psychology
  • Expertise in the areas of psychology, neurolinguistics, or psycholinguistics
  • Expertise in language and/or emotion processing (strongly preferred)
  • Interest in learning experimental approaches to language
  • Enjoyment of scientific work
  • Independent working style and a high level of initiative-taking
  • Excellent team-building and organizational skills

  • Cover letter and academic CV
  • Brief proposal of a possible topic for a dissertation, with demonstration of flexibility in adapting the topic to that of the project
  • Proof of completion
  • Proof oflanguager skills, required in the curriculum, if the doctoral programme is not completed in the first language (please note that anadmissionis required). For a doctorate in Psychology (within thedoctoral program of the Faculty of Natural Sciences) alanguage certificate in German on a C1 Level (CEFR C1) is required.
  • Two references (names and contact information)

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
