Your Responsibilities

  • Writing a dissertation at the University of Graz in the area Theoretical Chemistry
  • Research in the field of molecular crystal simulations (with a focus on chemical reactions in the solid state)
  • Application of periodic and non-periodic electronic structure methods as well as machine learning force fields for the modeling of molecular crystals
  • Writing scientific publications
  • Independent teaching of courses and participation in teaching and examination tasks of the institute of chemistry
  • Supervision of students
  • Participation in organizational and administrative tasks as well as in evaluation measures

Your Profile

  • Completed master’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
  • Knowledge of theoretical chemistry and electronic structure theory (including solid-state modeling)
  • Experience with machine learning methods and basic programming skills are advantageous
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
  • German language skills are advantageous
  • Scientific curiosity and interest in working on current research questions
  • Independent working style and high level of initiative
  • Strong teamwork and organizational skills

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52.007,20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
