Your Future Responsibilities

The Power Electronics Team, located in Villach, is looking for motivated students to work alongside our scientists and research engineers on scientific paper contributions, lab setup preparation, and prototype and test setup construction for various scenarios.

As an Intern, you will have the opportunity to expand your knowledge in emerging topics in Power Electronics, including:

  • Exploring wide bandgap (WBG) devices, including device characterization, modeling, and simulation.
  • Working with novel test setups for power semiconductor device characterization and building multi-domain simulation models.
  • Improving power electronics packaging and cooling technologies for active and passive components.
  • Understanding packaging and fabrication of power electronics assemblies and working on mechanical solutions for improved packaging.
  • Optimizing power electronics converters through control algorithms and real-time sensing for condition monitoring.
  • Designing next-generation power converters with enhanced power density and efficiency.

Your profile

This position is suitable for students from bachelor's to master's level at universities, universities of applied sciences, or technical high schools (HTL), with a mandatory internship requirement. We support the 'study and work' program at FH Kärnten.

This position is covered by the Collective Agreement for Employees in Non-University Research. The gross monthly salary ranges from €1,374.00 to €1,415.00.
