Job Description:

The role involves applying isotopes and radiation in food, agriculture, and environmental safety. Knowledge of stable isotope dilution and isotope measurements for food safety assessment is essential. The candidate should have a background in food science and technology, including food production and processing techniques relevant to food safety and control. Additionally, familiarity with environmental contaminants and emergent compounds related to food safety is required.

Qualifications, Experience, and Language Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry, instrumental analysis, food chemistry, or a related field; a postgraduate degree is advantageous.
  • At least two years of experience in food safety using chromatographic and spectroscopic techniques such as LC-/GC-MS(MS) and LC-ICP-MS.
  • Experience with experimental design, statistical methods, multivariate analysis, and modeling for food applications.
  • Practical skills in operating and maintaining analytical instruments, including LC- and GC-MS(MS) and LC-ICP-MS.
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and control procedures, preferably ISO 17025.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate results.
  • Ability to write and edit scientific and technical reports.
  • Familiarity with developing countries' needs is an advantage. Experience in teaching or training is also beneficial.
  • Excellent command of English; knowledge of other IAEA languages is a plus.

Remuneration:
