A global technology company is seeking a Project Engineer to oversee the engineering of drive and energy storage systems. This role involves project engineering, collaboration with suppliers, and preparing engineering documentation. The ideal candidate has a background in electrical engineering, experience with MATLAB/Simulink, and strong problem-solving skills. This position offers a hybrid work environment located in Colombia, RAP (Especial) Central, Madrid.

Formación

This Position reports to: Business Manager - Commercial

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to act as a design authority for an engineering discipline with medium to high complexity. Each day, you will complete assignments on small projects or portions of larger projects in a cost-effective manner. You will also showcase your expertise by applying basic design thinking/design for excellence concepts in projects.

This role is contributing to the Traction division in Spain.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Project Engineering of drive systems, energy storage systems, and auxiliary systems while ensuring seamless integration into the vehicle, in accordance with customer-specific requirements, relevant standards, and internal specifications
• Specify, execute, document, and assess routine and type tests
• Preparation of engineering deliverables and documentation for customer
• Collaborate with suppliers to specify components and define technical requirements
• Support on Commissioning and Homologation
• Engineering support for tender and service activities

Qualifications for the role

• Higher technical education - electrical engineering, power electronics, control, communications
• Good knowledge of electrical engineering and power electronics, in particular knowledge of electric drives and motors used in railway or e-mobility vehicles
• Experience with simulation & programming tools: MATLAB/Simulink and IEC 61131
• Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills (both hardware and software)
• Independence, team player and good organization of work
• Readiness for business trips
• Good knowledge of English
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
