PALO IT in Colombia is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and implement scalable backend systems that power innovative digital solutions. You will build backend services with Java, Spring Boot, and a microservices architecture, delivering RESTful APIs that are secure, performant and maintainable.

You will collaborate with architects and analysts, mentor junior developers, participate in agile ceremonies, and drive automation and continuous improvement.

Formación

• +6 years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.
• Proficient in Java (8+), Spring Boot, RESTful API design, JPA, and microservices architecture.
• Hands-on experience with databases (SQL: PostgreSQL, MySQL; NoSQL: MongoDB) and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, enabling effective collaboration in diverse teams.

Your Role

As a Senior Software Engineer at PALO IT, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality backend systems that support the delivery of innovative digital solutions.

Design and develop scalable backend solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.

Implement, test, and maintain RESTful APIs and ensure their performance, scalability, and security.

Employ agile methodologies, participating in sprint ceremonies and code reviews to maintain code quality.

Collaborate with solution architects and business analysts to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing through workshops, presentations, and community initiatives.

Continuously improve software development processes by identifying areas for optimization and implementing automation where appropriate.

Who You Are

+6 years of professional experience in software development with a strong focus on backend technologies.

Proficient in Java (8+), Spring Boot, RESTful API design, JPA, and microservices architecture.

Hands‑on experience with databases (SQL: PostgreSQL, MySQL; NoSQL: MongoDB) and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, enabling effective collaboration in diverse teams.
