Software Integration Engineer - SQL & Linux

Sutherland is seeking an attentive and goal-oriented person to join us as a software engineer for the NICE Systems program who can translate the underlying technical details of customer requirements to the functional level with the help of his technical expertise and proprietary products available at NICE Actimize. His expertise will be preferable of an excellent understanding of the Java 8/11 language, will be able to administer JVM (Tomcat, JBoss, Websphere, among others), will have sufficient knowledge to administer at basic level Oracle/SQL-Server database engines in Linux or Windows server environments, will also be able to write and read SQL with performance-scope.

Job Description

1. Determines technical feasibility by evaluating requirements and analysis as well as proposed solutions.
2. Prepares and installs solutions by determining and designing system specifications, standards, and programming.
3. Enhances existing solutions to match client requirements by configuring and customizing software using Actimize software, SQL, and other technologies.
4. Tests and approves software solutions, configurations, and customizations.
5. Provides information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.
6. Utilizes software engineering tools such as configuration management systems, build processes, and debuggers in the software development process.
7. Collaborates and adds value through participation in peer code reviews, providing comments and suggestions.
8. Provides reliable solutions to a variety of problems using sound problem solving techniques.
9. Performs technical root cause analysis and outlines corrective action for given problems.
10. Serve as a mentor to less experienced software engineers.
11. Estimate level of effort, evaluate new options of similar technology, offer suggestions to improve processes, and provide comments on some design aspects.
12. Apply a sense of urgency, commitment and focus on the right priorities in developing technical solutions in a timely fashion.
13. Review product and/or application information including manuals and brochures for technical accuracy.
14. Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, diagrams, clear code, and comments.

Qualifications

1. 3+ years’ experience with a Software Company or in a consulting role.
2. For ERCM SE: strong Java/J2EE experience is preferred.
3. Databases: MS SQL and/or Oracle. Cassandra is a plus.
4. Operating systems: Windows and Linux.
5. Knowledge of ETL tools is a plus.
6. AWS and Container experience is a plus.
7. Tableau knowledge is a plus.
8. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent written and spoken English.
10. Pro-active and Team Oriented approach.
11. BS degree in Computer Science or related field.
12. Travel required 0 to 10%.
