Job summary

BairesDev is hiring a Senior Storage Systems Engineer to architect and manage large-scale data environments, ensuring high availability and performance across distributed storage systems.

You will design, implement, and optimize storage solutions (Ceph/MinIO/S3-compatible), write low-level code in C/C++, Go, or Rust, and automate provisioning and lifecycle management. This position is fully remote and offers strong USD-based or local currency compensation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, storage administration, or systems programming.
• Experience with distributed storage systems like Ceph, MinIO, or S3-compatible solutions.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Go, or Rust for systems-level development.
• Deep understanding of data durability, consistency, and replication strategies.
• Experience building/operating block, file, or object storage at scale.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Senior Storage Systems Engineer at BairesDev

As a Senior Storage Systems Engineer, you will architect and manage large-scale data environments to ensure high availability and performance. You will act as a technical pillar for our storage infrastructure, optimizing how data is stored, protected, and accessed across distributed systems.

What You'll Do

• Architect and maintain distributed storage solutions to handle massive data volumes with high reliability.
• Implement and optimize durability and consistency models to protect data integrity across various clusters.
• Develop low-level systems code to enhance the performance and efficiency of object and block storage services.
• Automate storage provisioning and lifecycle management to streamline infrastructure operations.
• Monitor system health and performance, proactively addressing bottlenecks in replication and data retrieval.

What We Are Looking For
