• Experience designing and delivering production systems in a professional or comparable environment.
• Strong proficiency with the Java Virtual Machine (JVM), experience with Kotlin or Spring a bonus.
• Experience owning system design and contributing to architectural decisions, with a strong understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability principles.
• Proven ability to lead technical execution of projects from concept to delivery.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make sound technical decisions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver user-focused outcomes.

The Role - Senior Software Engineer (Fan Engagement)

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the Fan Engagement team and lead the technical execution of projects and contribute to building a backend that powers fan-facing content and handles both live and postgame sports data. In this role, you'll own system design decisions, drive delivery across multiple workstreams, and partner closely with product and design to shape solutions. You'll play a key role in mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar across the team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with cloud systems, with experience specifically with AWS or Kubernetes being a plus

• Familiarity with distributed systems and large-scale architectures
• Exposure to defining or improving engineering standards, tooling, or processes
• Experience influencing product direction through technical insight
