Job summary

Unosquare, Inc. is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to own quality practices within an embedded, agile team building a learner-facing experience across web and mobile. You’ll advance end-to-end testing, move test suites into application repos, and coach engineers on testing strategies.

You will collaborate with product and engineering, define tests for features, and contribute to AI-assisted testing initiatives. This is a remote LATAM role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

We’re looking for a Senior Quality Engineer to join an agile product team building a learner-facing study experience across iOS, Android, and web. This is an embedded role. You won’t be running manual testing for others. You’ll own the team’s quality practice alongside product and engineering.

As the team moves quality testing closer to the code, you’ll help move end-to-end test suites into the application repositories, keep them healthy, and help engineers understand what to test and how. You’ll become an expert in the applications and think across whole features, not just individual pull requests.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with product managers and engineers to define test strategy and plans for features, looking at all the work that makes up a feature
• Maintain and extend Playwright end-to-end test suites as they move into the application code repositories
• Build and maintain smoke test suites that act as quality gates in CI/CD pipelines
• Coach engineers on what to test, how to test it, and good testing practices
• Help grow unit and integration test coverage so the team gets faster, cheaper feedback
• Be the go-to person for how features should work, drawing on deep product and application knowledge
• Find bugs and, where possible, help fix them
• Explore AI-assisted approaches to improve the testing practice

Required Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in quality engineering or test automation, with strong hands-on coding skills
• Strong experience with Playwright and TypeScript for end-to-end automation
• Experience testing modern web applications, ideally built with React or Next.js
• Experience testing mobile applications on iOS and Android
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitHub Actions
• Ability to design test strategy across a full feature and explain it clearly to engineers and product partners
• Strong communication skills and comfort working in an agile team
• Ownership mindset and willingness to teach others

• API and integration testing

• Synthetic monitoring or alerting on critical user journeys ("e.g., New Relic")
