Job summary

CapRelease Limited in Medellín, Colombia, seeks a Senior QA Engineer to own quality strategy for the platform. You will test front-end, REST APIs, and data layers, and decide when releases are ready.

This is a hands-on role with leadership responsibilities, working remotely within a small technology team. The role requires strong SQL skills, experience with Playwright/Cypress/Selenium, and collaboration with product and engineering in an agile environment.

Qualifications

• Leadership: own quality for a product/platform and set testing direction.
• Experience leading or managing a QA function or team.
• Hands-on testing of web front-ends and back-ends with modern tools.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the test strategy across the platform and release readiness.
• Test front-end and REST APIs, including functional, integration, contract and regression testing.
• Write SQL against SQL Server/Azure SQL for test data and data-layer verification.
• Collaborate with product on requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with developers to review coverage and reproduce defects.
• Build and maintain automated test suites and integrate with Azure DevOps.
• Test third-party data integrations and their edge cases.
• Report quality metrics to leadership and ensure release readiness.
• Cover non-functional areas: performance, resilience, accessibility, security.
