Job summary

MT Group seeks a Senior Programmer to develop, implement and maintain bespoke SAP B1 solutions. You will program, configure and optimise SAP B1 modules and build integrations with CRM, e‑commerce and external databases.

You will diagnose issues, apply patches, train users and document technical developments. The role requires 3–6 years of SAP B1 experience, strong SQL skills and English at B2+ level. Based in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, you will join a collaborative, client‑focused team.

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent

Job description

Purpose of the role

The Senior Programmer will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining bespoke solutions within the SAP B1 system. This role involves working on the programming, configuration and optimisation of system modules, integrations with other platforms and the resolution of technical issues to ensure that the system meets business requirements.

Responsibilities

• Development and customisation: Programme and develop specific functionalities in SAP B1 using tools such as the SAP B1 SDK (Software Development Kit), Visual Studio, C#, .NET or related languages. Create add-ons, customised reports, forms and automated processes in line with client or company requirements. Configure and customise SAP B1 modules, such as Finance, Sales, Purchasing, Inventory and Production, amongst others.
• Integrations: Design and implement integrations between SAP B1 and other systems (CRM, e-commerce, third-party applications, external databases, etc.) using APIs, web services or integration tools. Ensure interoperability and the correct flow of data between systems.
• Maintenance and support: Diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to the SAP B1 system. Carry out updates, patches and enhancements to the system to ensure its stability and performance. Provide technical support to end users and train them in the use of new features.
• Analysis and optimisation: Analyse business processes to identify opportunities for improvement through SAP B1. Optimise SQL queries to improve system performance. Document technical developments, configurations and processes.
• Collaboration: Work as part of a team with functional consultants, business analysts and other developers to align technical solutions with the company’s objectives. Participate in meetings with clients or internal users to understand requirements and propose solutions.

Requirements

• Qualifications: Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering or a Higher National Diploma.
• Experience: At least 3–6 years’ experience in development using SAP Business One or similar ERP systems, with third-party applications (e-commerce, marketplaces, logistics or other systems).
• Knowledge of object-oriented programming and experience with SAP B1 SDK, C#, .NET or Visual Basic.
• Technical skills: Proficiency in SQL and experience with databases (MS SQL Server, SAP HANA). Knowledge of integration tools (APIs, web services, B1 iF – Business One Integration Framework). Familiarity with Crystal Reports for report creation.
• Functional knowledge: SAP B1 document flow: order → delivery → invoice → return/credit note. Sales, logistics and after-sales processes.
• Soft skills: Analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently; effective communication when interacting with non-technical users and multidisciplinary teams. Cross-functional working. Customer focus and adaptability to dynamic environments. Alignment with the MT Group’s values.
• English: B2+ level.
• Desirable: certification in SAP B1 or courses related to SAP SDK or HANA.
