Pavco Wavin Colombia is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer in Bogotá to translate customer needs into robust plastic product designs. You will lead design concepts, assess manufacturability, and mentor engineers, while coordinating with the TI team to drive innovation in drainage and water systems.

The role requires 5+ years of leadership in plastic product design, SolidWorks/Rhino/CAD proficiency, and strong English communication. Willingness to travel 10–20% is expected.

Main responsabilities

• Translating "customer needs” into functional products from concept development to implementation with a focus on technical engineering.
• Generating design concepts ans olving complex design issues in a structured way.
• Assessing manufacturability and detailing product designs.
• Modeling product designs and giving advice to improve the innovation project.
• Proactively advising the T&I Team Lead regarding product development (resources and processes).
• Technical coaching and supervising fellow Product Development Engineers in product design activities.

Qualifications

• BBSc or MSc degree in Mechanical engineering, Industrial Product Design or Civil Engineering, including affinity with plastics and manufacturing (extrusion, injection and molding)or related fields.
• Experience in Rapid Prototyping/Rapid Manufacturing. (Mandatory). Desirable: Experience with product standardization and experience in development and innovation if products.
• Knowledge and experience in developing plastic products. injection molding, extrusion and other plastic processing methods.Knowledge and experience in developing plastic products. Experience in setting up 3D models (preferably SolidWorks). (Mandatory)
• 5 years of proven experience leading plastic product design, ensuring technical quality, coordinating resources and development processes, proposing innovation improvements.
• Experience in setting up 3D models (preferably SolidWorks, Rhino or CAD).
• Deep knowledge of plastic product design and manufacturing, technical leadership, WTI tools, root cause analysis.
• Excellent communications skills in English, both verbally as well as in writing.
• Willingness to travel (10-20% if necessary).
