We're hiring our first dedicated Product Analyst: a hands-on, technical analyst who turns product questions into answers without waiting on engineering.
You'll make sure every product decision we make starts with a measurable outcome and ends with an honest assessment of whether we achieved it.
We serve thousands of business customers across marketing automation, AI chat, and digital commerce. We generate significant amounts of data, and we're looking for someone who can transform that information into actionable insights.
You'll own three key areas:
- Diagnosis: When a metric drops or a feature underperforms, you'll investigate why, quantify the impact, and recommend what to do next.
- Outcomes from Day One: You'll partner with Product Managers during the planning process to define success metrics, instrumentation, and reporting requirements before development begins.
- Strategic Analysis: You'll investigate open-ended business questions, gather internal and external data, and deliver clear recommendations supported by evidence and confidence levels.
This is a hands-on builder role. You'll independently retrieve and analyze data from SQL warehouses, APIs, and public datasets without depending on engineering resources for routine analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate declines in engagement, conversion, adoption, and retention.
- Distinguish actual product issues from data quality problems, seasonality, and customer mix effects.
- Segment data by customer, account type, product, channel, and cohort to identify underlying drivers.
- Quantify business impact in terms of customers, revenue, or leads.
- Prepare concise root cause analysis reports outlining findings, confidence levels, and recommended actions.
Product Analytics & Reporting
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define business problems, target outcomes, and measurable success metrics within Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
- Define event tracking and data requirements before new features are developed.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools that measure product performance.
- Design, implement, and evaluate A/B tests and holdout experiments, including sample size, duration, and guardrail metrics.
Strategic & Ad Hoc Analysis
- Answer complex business questions using data-driven analysis and actionable recommendations.
- Integrate external datasets, including Census data, market research, industry data, and public APIs, with internal business data.
- Independently retrieve information from REST APIs and use Python to collect, clean, transform, and model data.
- Develop lightweight, repeatable data pipelines and analytical notebooks.
- Present findings clearly to product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
Data Quality & Collaboration
- Identify data quality issues and collaborate with engineering teams to improve instrumentation.
- Enable Product Managers to independently answer common analytical questions.
- Work closely with Product Managers, designers, engineering, data/BI, and customer success teams.
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in product analytics, marketing analytics, or growth analytics, ideally within a B2B SaaS environment.
- Advanced SQL proficiency, including window functions, common table expressions (CTEs), complex joins, and query performance optimization.
- Strong Python skills for data analysis using libraries such as pandas, NumPy, statsmodels, or scikit-learn.
- Experience collecting data through APIs, including authentication, pagination, rate limits, and JSON parsing.
- Demonstrated ability to independently retrieve, integrate, and analyze external datasets and third-party API data.
- Strong applied statistical knowledge, including hypothesis testing, regression, experimental design, statistical power, and sample size calculations.
- Understanding of causal inference and the distinction between correlation and causation.
- Experience defining product success metrics, implementing event tracking, and developing dashboards using business intelligence tools.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into concise, actionable recommendations for executives and Product Managers.
- Ability to work independently, navigate ambiguity, and transform loosely defined business questions into meaningful insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in e-commerce or marketing automation platforms.
- Familiarity with email and messaging analytics, including send-time optimization, deliverability, and engagement modeling.
- Knowledge of advanced causal inference techniques such as difference-in-differences, synthetic control, and uplift modeling.
- Experience with product analytics platforms such as Amplitude, Mixpanel, or Heap.
- Familiarity with modern data warehouses and transformation tools, including Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and dbt.
- Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude or GitHub Copilot to accelerate analysis and pipeline development.
- Experience collaborating with distributed teams across multiple time zones.
Examples of Questions You'll Help Answer
- Which email send times generate the highest engagement across different customer demographics?
- What metrics should define success for a new AI chat feature, and what data must be collected?
- Which customers are most likely to churn, and what product behaviors predict that risk?
- Did a product feature change directly increase lead generation, or were other factors responsible?
What Success Looks Like
Within 30 Days
- Gain access to and develop an understanding of the core databases.
- Complete at least one end-to-end root cause analysis or ad-hoc analytical project.
Within 60 Days
- Develop an initial metric dictionary for each product line.
- Participate in at least two active Product Requirements Documents, defining success metrics before development begins.
Within 90 Days
- Complete an email send-time optimization analysis or comparable project incorporating external data.
- Design a validation test and present actionable recommendations.
- Become a trusted analytical resource for Product Managers.
Within 12 Months
- Ensure every new Product Requirements Document includes clearly defined outcomes and instrumentation requirements.
- Establish routine post-launch performance evaluations.
- Demonstrate measurable influence on product decisions through data-driven analysis.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a curious, independent, technically skilled analyst who enjoys solving complex business problems.
The ideal candidate doesn't simply report what happened. They investigate why it happened, determine what it means for the business, and recommend what should happen next.
If you're passionate about product analytics, comfortable working independently with complex datasets, and motivated by turning data into better product decisions, we'd love to hear from you.
