Job summary

Hatch is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join the Project Delivery Group in Medellín. You will ensure that mechanical work complies with mandatory health and safety standards and client engineering standards, while understanding project requirements related to scope, execution strategy, cost, and schedule.

You will lead piping and mechanical design activities, manage work packages, review deliverables, and participate in HAZOPs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
• Develop understanding of project requirements related to scope, execution, cost and schedule.
• Prepare deliverables list and time-based functions for budgeting.
• Support site field visits for data collection.
• Lead equipment identification, sizing, and vendor reviews.
• Lead piping system design, including P&ID development and stress analysis.
• Create and maintain the project scope of work documentation.
• Manage and review engineering work packages to meet budgets and schedules.
• Review and approve technical deliverables.
• Assist in developing project procedures.
• Manage system requirements to achieve project results.
• Represent Mechanical/Piping in coordination meetings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines as design evolves.
• Conduct quality audits per procedures and QA plan.
• Participate in HAZOP reviews.
• Resolve engineering issues throughout lifecycle.
• Promote ethical and professional practices; adhere to Hatch safety culture.

Education

Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering
