AspenView Technology Partners is hiring a Senior Java + MuleSoft Engineer to design and deliver scalable, secure integrations for a North American automotive client. You will own API governance and end-to-end API-led connectivity from design to deployment, collaborating with cross-functional teams to keep distributed systems reliable and performant.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of Java development experience with OOP and data structures.
• Hands-on MuleSoft experience with API-led connectivity and DataWeave transformations.
• Experience with distributed systems integration patterns (REST/SOAP).

We are seeking a Senior Java + MuleSoft Engineer to design and deliver scalable, secure integration solutions for a client in the automotive industry. You'll own API-led connectivity end-to-end—from Anypoint Platform design through custom Java development—working closely with cross-functional teams to keep distributed systems reliable and performant. If you think in integration patterns and care about getting API governance right, this role gives you real ownership over how systems connect.

What you will do:

Integration Development

• Design, develop, test, and deploy APIs and integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, Design Center)
• Implement complex data transformations, routing, and orchestration logic using DataWeave, Mule Expressions, and custom Java components within Mule flows
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs, SOAP web services, and other integration patterns.

Java Development

• Develop, maintain, and enhance custom Java applications, modules, and utilities that integrate with MuleSoft services or run as standalone microservices.
• Apply Java best practices, design patterns, and frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot) to build high-performance, scalable, secure applications.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing across MuleSoft and Java components.

API Management & Governance

• Implement API security best practices (OAuth, JWT, API Key management) within MuleSoft.
• Contribute to API design standards, governance, and documentation, publishing APIs to Anypoint Exchange.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize integration solutions for performance, scalability, and reliability.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate seamlessly with data scientists, product teams, and distributed engineers to deliver end-to-end AI solutions.
• Stay highly up to date with rapid advancements in Generative AI, LLM ecosystems, and modern AI tooling.

Tools & Technologies:

• Platforms & Infrastructure: MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (API Manager, Runtime Manager, Exchange, Design Center), Java, Spring/Spring Boot.
• Security & DevSecOps: OAuth, OAuth 2.0, JWT, API Key management, API governance and documentation practices.
• Cloud & IaC: DataWeave, Mule Expressions, REST/SOAP integration patterns, SQL and/or NoSQL databases, Git.

What you bring:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Java development (OOP, data structures, Spring/Spring Boot), hands-on MuleSoft experience with API-led connectivity, DataWeave for complex data transformations, and integration patterns across distributed systems (pub/sub, request/reply, aggregator, scatter-gather); experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and Git for version control.
• Consulting / Leadership: Solid understanding of API governance and security best practices, with the ability to contribute to design standards and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• Mindset: Analytical and detail-oriented, strong problem-solving and debugging instincts, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Education & Location: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with the ability to work remotely from LatAm (Mexico, Costa Rica, Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, or Brazil) aligned to PST hours.
• Nice to have: Exposure to SOAP web services alongside REST, and familiarity monitoring/optimizing integrations for performance and reliability at scale.
