Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer (TypeScript, Next.js, Fastify) - 6-Month Contract

Remote | Fixed term | Colombia

GP Strategies is seeking a Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Engineer with hands-on experience building join our remote team in Colombia.

In this role, you’ll work across multiple AI-driven products at different stages of maturity—shaping new applications, scaling existing systems, and delivering complex features end to end. You’ll operate in a small, agile environment with a high degree of ownership and technical influence.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our team on a 6-month contract basis. This fully remote role is based in Colombia and requires alignment with United States business hours (EST/CST). The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern full-stack development and be passionate about building scalable, high-performance applications using TypeScript and cloud-native technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications using modern TypeScript frameworks and tools.
• Build and optimize front-end applications using Next.js and Tailwind CSS.
• Develop robust backend services and APIs using Fastify and tRPC.
• Design and manage relational databases using PostgreSQL.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, and solution design workshops.
• Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the full technology stack.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and implementation guides.
• Mentor team members and contribute to engineering best practices.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate effectively with distributed teams while working EST/CST hours.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript across both front-end and back-end development.
• Hands-on experience with:
• Next.js
• Fastify
• tRPC
• Tailwind CSS
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and modern web services.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, distributed systems, and application scalability.
• Experience with Git-based development workflows.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of modern authentication and authorization frameworks.
• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and test-driven development.
• Previous experience in a Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, or Senior Software Engineer role.
