AgileEngine is seeking a Lead SDET to build regression automation and guide the testing strategy across the full product release cycle. You will architect robust test suites and mentor QA engineers.

The role collaborates with product, UI/UX, and engineering teams to ensure quality from design through delivery, with an emphasis on data-driven testing, security considerations, and scalable automation, while aligning with agile processes and fast-paced product cycles.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role, collaborating with PM, UX, and Engineering.
• 6+ years of automated testing including UI, API, and performance.
• 5+ years in systems-based testing architecture—auth, platforms, and infra.
• 3+ years testing data science models and AI/ML evals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Holistic quality mindset.
• Experience writing and using Gherkin for BDD.

Responsibilities

• Build regression automation scripts to support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy against defined criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other tests.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior and test outcomes.
• Identify risks to quality and mitigate them proactively.
• Collaborate with product, development, and QA to ensure SDLC quality.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and effort estimations for accurate planning.
• Utilize GitHub to maintain automation repos and run custom scripts.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Lead SDET to build regression automation and guide the testing strategy across the full product release cycle.

MUST HAVES

• 6+ years of experience in a software quality assurance role building alongside PM, UX, and Engineering Departments.
• 6+ years of experience in automated testing including UI, API, Performance.
• 5+ years in systems-based testing architecture - Authentication, platforms, and infrastructure focus.
• 3+ years of experience testing data science models and AI/ML evals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Possess a mindset focused on holistic quality.
• Experience writing and working with Gherkin for behavior-driven development.

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, Playwright, Postman, Jmeter or any other object-oriented based automated testing framework.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails and backend development.
• Experience with testing support functionalities such as Github Actions, Lambdatest, Sendgrid, Datadog, PagerDuty.
• Understanding of quality management systems and quality control processes.
• Background in data-based testing and/or security-based testing.
• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Build regression automation scripts that support app functionality.
• Manually test software for validation and accuracy based on defined set of criteria.
• Execute smoke, regression, integration, performance and other testing types to ensure proper behavior of software.
• Record detailed documentation of feature behavior.
• Record pass/fails conditions of tests and correlate failures to bug identification.
• Identify and escape any risk to quality of the product or the process.
• Collaborate with the product team to ensure quality throughout the SDLC and product release cycles.
• Collaborate with customer-facing teams to incorporate user feedback in the testing strategy.
• Participate in refinement and estimations of effort to promote accurate planning.
• Utilize Github to maintain automation repositories, run custom scripts, and facilitate automated quality practices.
• Participate in On-Call rotation.
