Job summary

MSD seeks a Senior Specialist, External Data Manager to lead trial-level external data strategy and delivery studies. You will own transfer-spec development, monitor data transfers, and mentor junior analysts while reporting metrics and improvements.

You will collaborate with the CDM Trial Lead, GDMS, and IT to ensure regulatory compliance, data readiness, and timely data quality oversight across protocol processes and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences (preferred in Nursing, Pharmacy, Life science, Data / IT, Medical Technology)
• Minimum 5 years of experience in data management or clinical trial operations
• Masters/Doctorate preferred with minimum 2 years in data management or clinical trial operations

Responsibilities

• Gather external data requirements from protocols, service providers, and study teams.
• Ensure external data specifications are developed and approved by stakeholders.
• Verify test and first production files conform to approved external data specs.
• Oversee external data file loading and resolve data load issues.
• Support data quality oversight and risk identification.
• Lead trial-level service provider management and performance reviews.
• Collaborate with GDMS, IT, and cross-functional teams to resolve platform issues.
