Job summary

Compass Pointe Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support a major customer program with the design of automated deployments, network configurations, and telecom integrations in high-availability environments.

Candidates should have 5+ years of DevOps experience, strong scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python), and tools like Ansible or Puppet, ELK/OpenSearch or Splunk for logs, Wireshark for network analysis, and SNMP/Zabbix for monitoring.

Qualifications

• BS in Information Technology, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5-9 years’ experience as a DevOps Engineer implementing automated deployments in networking/communications.
• Demonstrates ability to apply best-practice system engineering concepts and risk management.
• Able to learn, select, and integrate new technologies into system solutions.
• Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Designs, develops, and implements automated software deployments and network configurations for networking, computing, and proprietary communications equipment.
• Implements hardware and software monitoring, reporting, and upgrade paths.
• Establishes management system designs for high availability architectures.
• Provides systems engineering for software and hardware systems, subsystems, modules, and tools.
• Monitors performance and implements security measures, troubleshooting, maintenance, and improvements.
• Creates and reviews design drawings, system layouts, configuration, and deployment procedures for customers.
• Takes ownership of engineering deliverables and their technical compliance.
• Interfaces with program management, hardware & software development, test engineering, field engineering, and production for project success.
• May participate in on-site customer deployments, system integration, and testing activities.
