Pereira, Colombia-based AgileEngine is seeking a Senior/Lead DevOps Engineer to deploy and operationalize a new Kubernetes-based cloud environment on AWS for a short-term project. You’ll lead deployments, enforce security and reliability, and collaborate across teams to drive GitOps workflows with Argo CD and Terraform.

This role offers flexible, remote-friendly options and exposure to Fortune 500-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of DevOps, SRE, Platform/Cloud Eng experience.
• 4+ years deploying Kubernetes in production.
• Proven experience deploying AWS-hosted apps.
• Leading technical efforts with minimal supervision.
• Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Deep experience with Kubernetes, EKS, Helm.
• Experience with Argo CD and Service Mesh tech.
• Ingress, networking, storage and cluster ops experience.
• Experience with AWS services: VPC, EC2, EKS, IAM, Route 53, RDS, S3, CloudWatch.
• GitLab, GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Terraform, IaC.
• Bash, Python, or Go.

Responsibilities

• Lead deployment of a new cloud environment within AWS or another provider.
• Ensure deployment follows security, reliability, and operational best practices.
• Partner with application, infrastructure, security, and operations teams.
• Deploy and manage workloads on Kubernetes platforms.
• Troubleshoot cluster, networking, ingress, storage, and workload issues.
• Support modernization and containerization efforts where needed.
• Implement platform standards and operational guardrails.
• Design and enhance GitLab CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement deployment automation and release workflows.
• Establish GitOps deployment patterns using Argo CD.
• Improve traceability, repeatability, and deployment reliability.
• Develop and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and related tooling.
• Reduce manual deployment activities through automation.
• Configure platform monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards.
• Support production readiness reviews and operational runbooks.
• Establish reliability practices and incident response procedures.
• Identify bottlenecks and performance issues across cloud and Kubernetes environments.
• Evaluate existing deployment practices and operational processes.
• Document platform architecture, deployment procedures, and operational support requirements.
• Produce runbooks and knowledge-transfer documentation for support teams.
