Senior Database Administrator

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mid-level/Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a passion for technology to join our team in Madrid. In this role, you will be part of a team of experienced DBAs responsible for ensuring the stability, performance and security of high-performance databases that support critical applications and real-time data processing.

Responsibilities include managing, optimizing and safeguarding databases to meet the needs of a dynamic, performance-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the high availability, performance and security of databases
• Optimize database queries and processes to improve efficiency and reduce costs
• Implement and maintain database backups and disaster recovery plans
• Monitor database activity and identify potential issues proactively
• Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth integration of databases with applications
• Perform daily monitoring of database health and performance
• Analyze and optimize database queries to improve response times
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues quickly and efficiently
• Document database procedures and configurations
• Participate in capacity planning and resource allocation for databases
• Stay up-to-date with the latest database technologies and best practices

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Database Administrator
• Experience with Elasticsearch
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MongoDB
• Strong scripting skills in Bash and Python
• Proficiency with monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
• Experience in database performance tuning and optimization
• Knowledge of cloud-based database technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Proficient communication skills in Spanish are required, with basic knowledge of English

Nice to Have

• Certifications in database administration or related fields
• Experience with media or entertainment industry
• Skills in other database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server)
