Job summary

Role Description

The Senior Data Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bogotá, D.C. This role is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure to support analytics and business intelligence initiatives. The Senior Data Engineer will work on modeling data, implementing ETL processes, and optimizing data warehousing solutions to ensure data is accurate, secure, and readily available. Day-to-day activities include collaborating with cross-functional teams, troubleshooting data issues, improving performance, and contributing to architecture decisions for data platforms. The person in this role will also mentor team members and help define best practices and standards for data engineering within the organization.

Qualifications

• Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and implementing data pipelines and data infrastructure.
• Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing to support reporting, analytics, and scalable storage solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes and tools to integrate, cleanse, and transform data from multiple sources.
• Solid background in data analytics, including working with analytical tools and frameworks to enable data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Scala, or Java).
• Knowledge of cloud data platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP) is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with big data technologies and distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Kafka, Hadoop) is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; advanced degrees are an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Bogotá, D.C., collaborate effectively with diverse teams, and communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Experience in digital transformation or IT consulting environments is desirable.
