Global Technology Services in Medellín, Colombia is hiring a Senior Data Engineer to design, implement, and maintain our data infrastructure. You will manage Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform, build data pipelines, and write SQL for analytics and reporting.

The role is hybrid office/remote, with opportunities to impact multiple industries and collaborate with Latin America, the Philippines, and the United States.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in data engineering, designing data warehousing in Enterprise environments.
• 5+ years with Microsoft SQL or SQL databases.
• 4+ years with Google Cloud Platform services (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Airflow).
• 2+ years with Snowflake.
• 1+ year with MongoDB or NoSQL.
• Experience with Terraform or IaC tools.
• Experience with PowerBI and Snowflake/GCP connections.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing team as the first and only data-focused specialist. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, particularly managing Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform. In addition, you will assist with the creation and maintenance of data pipelines and be responsible for writing SQL queries for analytics and reporting. This role is hybrid office / remote. You must demonstrate successful results while working away from the office.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.


• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing data warehousing solutions - preferably in an Enterprise environment.


• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL or SQL database


• 4+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform services like: GCP BigQuery, Cloud Composer and Airflow


• 2+ years of experience with Snowflake


• 1+ years of experience with MongoDB or NoSQL document database


• Experience with Terraform / infrastructure as code or similar tools.


• Experience creating and maintaining YAML-based configurations or metadata definitions


• Experience with PowerBI and PowerBI connection to Snowflake or GCP
