Global Technology Services in Medellín, Colombia, seeks a seasoned Data Engineer to design and maintain our data infrastructure, focusing on Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform. You will build data pipelines, write SQL for analytics, and support reporting needs in a hybrid setup.

The role adds ownership over data projects and collaboration with cross-border teams across LATAM, Philippines and the US, contributing to scalable data solutions.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years in data engineering with enterprise data warehousing experience.
• 5+ years experience with MS SQL or SQL databases.

What you will be doing:

We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our growing team as the first and only data-focused specialist. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our data infrastructure, particularly managing Snowflake and Google Cloud Platform. In addition, you will assist with the creation and maintenance of data pipelines and be responsible for writing SQL queries for analytics and reporting. This role is hybrid office / remote. You must demonstrate successful results while working away from the office.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering or a similar role, with a proven track record of designing and implementing data warehousing solutions - preferably in an Enterprise environment.
• 5+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL or SQL database
• 4+ years of experience with Google Cloud Platform services like: GCP BigQuery, Cloud Composer and Airflow
• 2+ years of experience with Snowflake
• 1+ years of experience with MongoDB or NoSQL document database
• Experience with Terraform / infrastructure as code or similar tools.
• Experience creating and maintaining YAML-based configurations or metadata definitions
• Experience with PowerBI and PowerBI connection to Snowflake or GCP

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, diagram and document complex engineering concepts.
