Job summary

Tether Ltd. is seeking a Senior Business Analyst specializing in mining to support M&A advisory and investment banking across mining opportunities.

The role blends geological insight with financial analysis to appraise assets and transactions throughout the resources value chain. You will build robust financial models, assess reserve statements, and evaluate project economics while monitoring markets and risks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, Mining Engineering, or Earth Sciences.
• 5+ years of relevant mining, investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, or advisory experience in resources.
• Exposure to M&A transactions, project finance, or asset valuation in mining is desirable.
• Formal business education or training is a plus (MBA, CFA progression, etc.).
• Understanding of mineral resource classification codes (JORC, NI 43-101, SAMREC).
• Familiarity with structured financing instruments in mining (prepays, royalties, streams, offtake).
• Strong financial modelling and valuation skills.
• Ability to translate technical geology data into commercial insight.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on mining assets and companies, integrating geological, technical, and commercial assessments.
• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, NAV, comparables) for mining projects and transactions.
• Analyze resource statements (JORC/NI 43-101) and assess their commercial implications.
• Evaluate mining project economics including capex/opex and production schedules.
• Prepare investment memoranda, pitchbooks, valuation summaries for boards.
• Monitor commodity markets, mining trends, and M&A activity.
• Support deal execution with technical and legal teams and counterparties.
• Assess geopolitical, permitting, ESG risks affecting mining investments.
• Evaluate alternative financing schemes and their impact on project economics.

The role bridges technical geological expertise with commercial and financial analysis, evaluating mining assets, transactions, and investment opportunities across the resources value chain.

Responsibilities

• Conduct due diligence on mining assets and companies, integrating geological, technical, and commercial assessments.
• Build and maintain financial models (DCF, NAV, comparable transactions and companies) for mining projects and corporate transactions.
• Analyze mineral resource and reserve statements (JORC, NI 43-101, or equivalent) and assess their commercial implications.
• Evaluate mining project economics, including capex/opex profiles, production schedules, commodity price assumptions, and risk factors.
• Prepare investment memoranda, pitch books, valuation summaries, and board-level presentations.
• Monitor commodity markets, mining sector trends, M&A activity, and the competitive landscape.
• Support deal execution, including coordination with technical consultants, legal teams, and counterparties.
• Assess geopolitical, permitting, environmental, and ESG risks affecting mining investments.
• Structure and evaluate alternative and structured financing schemes for mining operations, including metal prepays, royalties, streaming agreements, offtake and marketing arrangements, and debt/equity hybrids, and assess their impact on project economics and counterparty risk.

Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant experience in mining, investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, or technical/financial advisory within the resources sector.
