EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer in Colombia to drive the automation testing strategy and mentor engineers toward high-quality outcomes. You will shape testing approaches and align with modern development workflows.

You will lead test planning, expand Katalon Studio, and ensure robust automation across DevOps pipelines, with strong English communication and Agile collaboration.

Formación

• 3+ years hands-on automation engineering experience.
• Automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines.
• Experience with Katalon Studio and Appium.
• Unit testing and UX testing involvement.
• Familiar with TDD/BDD frameworks.
• Experience in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, SourceTree.
• Ability to plan and coordinate test automation.
• Strong communication of test strategy.
• Ability to enforce standard automation processes.
• English communication at B2 level or higher.

We are searching for a Senior Automation Engineer to become part of our team.

In this position, you will steer the automation testing strategy and mentor a group of engineers toward producing high-quality outcomes. You will play a pivotal role in shaping testing approaches and ensuring smooth alignment with modern development workflows.

Responsibilities

• Set the overall test strategy across all automation activities
• Configure tools and prepare the setup needed to support automation initiatives
• Expand the existing Katalon Studio framework to broaden its capabilities
• Author detailed test cases covering critical functional areas and scenarios
• Suggest efficient solutions to testing challenges and process improvements
• Run test cases and track their results across execution cycles
• Produce user-friendly test reports to provide stakeholders with clear visibility
• Connect Katalon automation reports with Polarion to enable centralized tracking
• Validate custom keywords used inside automation frameworks
• Deploy the setup required for smooth automation operations
• Define clear test processes that the team follows in a consistent manner
• Outline roles and responsibilities within the automation team
• Educate team members on automation frameworks and recommended best practices
• Guide and support the team throughout the entire development lifecycle
• Enable the handover of automation work and knowledge to the wider team

Requirements

• No less than 3 years of hands‑on professional experience in automation engineering
• Background in automation testing integrated with DevOps pipelines
• Applied implementation of automation using Katalon Studio and Appium
• Practical involvement in unit testing and UX testing activities
• Working understanding of TDD and BDD frameworks for structured test creation
• Experience operating within fast‑paced Agile environments
• Broad knowledge of Katalon, Bitbucket, GitLab, TeamCity, and Source Tree
• Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate test automation efforts
• Skill in shaping and communicating the test strategy to the automation team
• Capability to ensure the team consistently adheres to standard automation processes
• Confident English communication at B2 level or higher, in both written and spoken forms

Nice to have

• Applied experience with CI/CD pipelines for automating build, test, and deployment cycles
• Awareness of Atlassian Jira for tracking test activities and defects
• Practical exposure to GUI testing across various platforms and applications
• Working knowledge of Postman for API testing and validation
• Background in web service and API test automation activities
