EPAM Systems is seeking a Senior Application Support Engineer to ensure reliable operation of business-critical web applications within a complex environment. You will troubleshoot end-to-end, analyze logs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain service levels.

The role requires strong Core Java and SQL skills, ITSM experience, and effective communication in English. You will participate in on-call coverage and work with global teams across shifts.

Formación

• 3+ years of application support in a medium-to-large ecosystem.
• Strong Core Java development for troubleshooting and log-based analysis.
• Strong SQL skills with 3+ years of querying and investigation.
• ITSM process knowledge with incident, problem, and change management experience.
• Web application architecture across web/app/DB tiers and basic network fundamentals.
• Log and monitoring experience with Elastic and APM tooling.
• Strong communication for clear updates and stakeholder coordination.
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) for daily collaboration and documentation.

Responsabilidades

• Resolve incidents by end-to-end troubleshooting across web, app, and database layers.
• Analyze Java core logs to identify root causes and advise corrective actions.
• Execute advanced SQL queries to validate data and support investigations.
• Follow ITSM/ITIL practices to manage incidents, problems, and changes with clear docs.
• Monitor systems using Elastic logs and APM to detect anomalies and prevent recurrence.
• Operate and validate Jenkins pipelines to support deployments and routine tasks.
• Collaborate in Jira and Confluence to track work and share knowledge.
• Support releases and on-call coverage across shifts, including evenings and weekends.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to restore service quickly and communicate status to clients.
• Capture diagnostic artifacts like HAR files and SSL/HTTP traces when needed.

We are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer to help ensure reliable operation of business-critical web applications across a complex environment. You will troubleshoot issues end-to-end, collaborate through ITSM processes, and improve monitoring and support practices.

Responsibilities

• Resolve application incidents by performing end-to-end troubleshooting across web, application, and database layers
• Analyze Java core application logs to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Execute advanced SQL queries to validate data, diagnose issues, and support investigations
• Follow ITSM/ITIL practices to handle incidents, problems, and changes with clear documentation
• Monitor systems using Elastic and APM logs to detect anomalies and prevent recurrence
• Operate and validate pre-built Jenkins pipelines to support deployments and routine operational tasks
• Collaborate in Jira and Confluence to track work, document runbooks, and share knowledge
• Support releases and on-call coverage across shifts, including evenings, weekends, and scheduled windows
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to restore service quickly and communicate status to clients
• Capture and interpret diagnostic artifacts such as browser HAR files and SSL/HTTP traces when needed

Requirements

• 3+ years of application support experience in a medium-to-large ecosystem
• Strong Core Java Development experience for troubleshooting and log-based analysis
• Strong SQL skills with 3+ years of hands-on querying and problem investigation
• ITSM process knowledge with practical incident, problem, and change management exposure
• Web application architecture understanding across web/app/DB tiers and common network fundamentals
• Log and monitoring experience with Elastic logs and APM tooling
• Strong communication skills for clear verbal and written updates and stakeholder coordination
• Upper-Intermediate English proficiency (B2) for daily collaboration and documentation

Nice to have

• Windows administration knowledge including IIS
• Virtualization and containerization familiarity
• CI/CD principles understanding
• Cloud exposure with managing applications in GCP
• SQL performance tuning experience with indexes, transactions, procedures, and functions
