AgileEngine seeks a Senior AI Engineer to design and build agentic workflows and AI-powered products for enterprise customers in higher education. You will lead the development of scalable agent orchestration, tool use, memory, and multi-agent collaboration across the software lifecycle.

The role emphasizes mentoring, architecture-guided decisions, and turning experiments into production systems with a focus on reliability, security, and meaningful outcomes for customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a software product development environment.
• Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with relational databases.
• Hands-on experience building AI agents and orchestrated workflows.
• Experience using agents to support coding, testing, or incident response.
• Senior-level experience building and operating production software systems.
• Experience with TypeScript, Python, RESTful APIs, and AWS.
• Experience with APIs, workflow engines, or distributed systems.
• Strong testing, observability, security, and error handling skills.
• Ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into practical technical solutions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and build agentic workflows that coordinate tools, services, data, and human approvals.
• Develop reusable patterns for agent orchestration and multi-agent collaboration.
• Use agentic coding tools across the development lifecycle.
• Integrate agents into development, testing, deployment, and operations.
• Establish standards for agent evaluation, observability, and security.
• Prototype new agentic capabilities and move successful experiments to production.
• Build complete, usable products, not just prototypes.
• Mentor engineers and shape an agentic-first strategy.
