Job summary

WSP en Colombia seeks a Transportation Planning Technician to handle Excel-based calculations and large mobility datasets for client reports. The role involves processing graphs, validating datasets, and producing tables and figures for presentations.

You will work with traffic software like Synchro, Aimsun, and Vissim, perform basic simulations, and maintain documentation for traceability, while collaborating with Montreal/Quebec teams and leveraging Power BI for visuals.

Qualifications

• College diploma or university degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Transportation, Urban Planning, Geography, Geomatics, Urban Design, or related field.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in technical support within a consulting engineering, transportation, or planning environment.
• Versatile technical resource comfortable with quantitative data processing and graphic production.
• Self-motivated, rigorous, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Prepare calculation worksheets in Excel using the team’s templates and methodologies.
• Process and present large volumes of mobility data through graphs and tables (traffic counts, origin-destination surveys, speed and flow, ridership).
• Structure, validate, and clean datasets from clients and data collection firms.
• Produce tables and charts for reports and client presentations.
• Prepare calculation files in traffic software such as Synchro, Aimsun, and Vissim; include network coding and signal timing configuration.
• Conduct vehicle turning simulations with AutoTURN and prepare supporting figures.
• Document assumptions, versions, and data sources for traceability.
• Produce planning diagrams and mobility figures; ensure visual identity and templates consistency.
