Zusammenfassung

Sezzle is seeking a hands-on Senior Software Engineer, Security Platform, to build the services that discover, scan, triage and route security findings within a Kubernetes/AWS stack. You will own the event-driven components and CI security gates that integrate with GitLab CI.

You’ll design and operate Go and Python services on AWS, contribute to threat modeling, and help scale the platform so engineers can move fast without sacrificing security and reliability.

Qualifikationen

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience with backend focus.
• Deployed significant changes to a production application in the past 30 days.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, plus working proficiency in Python.
• Hands-on experience building and operating event-driven or message-based systems (NATS, Kafka, or similar).
• Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipeline tooling — GitLab CI at fleet scale is a strong plus.
• Hands-on web application security knowledge: OWASP Top 10 in real code; ability to fix issues.

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and operate security engineering services in Go and Python on AWS and Kubernetes.
• Own the event-driven platform between security services (NATS bus, contracts, observability).
• Integrate the platform end-to-end: scanners → tickets → metrics for remediation visibility.
• Own delivery of security gates (SAST, SCA, secret detection, container/IaC scanning).
• Build agentic security workflows and CI review agents used by engineers.
• Develop triage-to-remediation automation with reproduction context and guidance.
• Participate in threat modeling and secure design reviews for services and pipelines.
• Participate in on-call rotation for owned services.
