Coforge is hiring Lead/Principal Data Engineer - DBT & Databricks for remote work across Latin America. The role focuses on building DBT models on Azure Databricks, implementing Delta Lake and Medallion Architecture, and delivering Gold-layer data domains to production standards.

The ideal candidate will leverage AI-assisted tools, establish robust testing, and drive data contracts, governance, and observability. Remote, international collaboration across teams is required.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
• 2+ years building and operating production-grade DBT projects (models, tests, macros, snapshots).
• Strong SQL skills and Python programming experience.
• Hands-on with Azure Databricks including Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Medallion Architecture.
• Knowledge of DBT testing frameworks, data validation and QA best practices.
• Familiarity with Git-based pull request workflows, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using AI-powered development tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
• Ability to own data domains and collaborate with business stakeholders.
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain DBT models on Azure Databricks using Delta Lake and Unity Catalog.
• Deliver curated Gold-layer data domains to production standards in regulated environments.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools for model generation, refactoring and documentation.
• Establish DBT testing strategies including schema validation and data quality checks.
• Operate in CI/CD-driven delivery with PR workflows and automated gates.
• Curate datasets, semantic definitions, and business terminology for analytics initiatives.
• Define and enforce data contracts, domain ownership, and governance standards.
• Implement data observability and root-cause analysis across data platforms.
• Contribute to playbooks and enablement programs for DBT, Databricks and AI-powered development.
