Upwork is seeking a Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, datasets, and automation systems that support cloud cost visibility, attribution, and performance insights. This role works with large-scale telemetry, usage, and financial data to help Product, Engineering, and Finance stakeholders make informed, cost-aware decisions.

• Strong data engineering foundation with end-to-end ELT/ETL pipelines in cloud environments.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Experience with data workflow tools such as dbt, Airflow, or Dagster.
• Hands-on AWS data ecosystem (Glue, Athena, Aurora).
• Experience with Snowflake and data modeling.
• Experience handling data at scale and cost optimization.
• CI/CD and version control
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Experience integrating REST APIs.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ELT/ETL pipelines in cloud environments.
• Build scalable datasets for cloud cost visibility, attribution, and performance insights.
• Design data models and ingestion frameworks for telemetry and usage data.
• Develop automation tools for cost-aware decision making across teams.
• Optimize pipelines for performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Perform query tuning and improve storage/compute strategies.
• Maintain REST API integrations and data source connections.
• Support CI/CD processes and Infrastructure as Code.
