MRR Reactor Operations

MURR's reactor is the highest-power university research reactor in the United States, operating at 10 megawatts, 6.5 days a week and 52 weeks a year. The MURR facility enables research across many disciplines - From investigating ancient cultures and how plants respond to their environment, to analyzing industrial materials and developing radiopharmaceuticals that have lifesaving clinical applications. The University of Missouri Research Reactor Facility (MURR) is seeking an engineer with training and experience in reactor and engineering analysis. This individual will assist the Reactor Operations Group in support of safe and reliable 24/7 operation of the high-performance MU Research Reactor by performing routine and complex assignments using standard reactor analysis computer programs. This position will work in a team dealing with several aspects of reactor operations including reactor utilization, fuel management, reactor and facility modifications, and will report directly to the Assistant Reactor Manager-Physics.
Successful candidate will be extremely detail oriented and a persuasive communicator with exceptional organizational and time management skills. They must demonstrate the following durable skills: leadership, character, collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. Additional traits include: good customer service, ability to maintain confidentiality, possesses integrity, and a commitment to the university values.
Candidate must be available to consistently work onsite.
Key Duties performed by this position will include:
Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. including some nights and some weekends. Periodic on call service is also required.
A Bachelor's degree from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Salary Range: $73,008 - $85,000 per year
