A leading global telecom solutions provider is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to join its team in Bogotá. This role involves managing the technical pre-sales process and engaging with clients and partners. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in telecommunications pre-sales and technical expertise in Carrier Ethernet and MPLS/IP. Fluency in Spanish and business-level English is required.

Formación

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pre-sales roles within a telecommunications vendor environment.
  • Experience engaging with telecom operators, utilities, and government clients.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Carrier Ethernet, MPLS/IP, NFV, Switching, Routing, and Ethernet OAM.
  • Native Spanish speaker with good business-level English.

Pre-Sales Engineer – Telecommunications

Location: Bogotá, Colombia

A leading global provider of advanced telecom and networking solutions is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to join its regional team in Bogotá. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and technically skilled professional with a strong background in telecommunications and customer engagement.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic technical environment, combining analytical thinking with creativity to overcome challenges and support complex sales processes. Occasional travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full technical pre-sales process, including the preparation of RFI, RFP and RFQ responses.
  • Act as the main technical liaison for customers and partners, managing all pre-sales interactions such as demos, technical meetings, PoC/trials, and roadshows.
  • Define and present tailored technical solutions and strategies for each customer or project.
  • Support account teams with technical expertise to drive successful outcomes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in pre-sales roles within a telecommunications vendor environment.
  • Academic degree in a relevant field (Communications Engineering preferred).
  • Experience engaging with telecom operators, utilities, and government clients.
  • Proven success working with international organisations and remote headquarters.
  • Strong technical knowledge in Carrier Ethernet, MPLS/IP, NFV, Switching, Routing, and Ethernet OAM.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Native Spanish speaker with good business-level English.
  • Knowledge of carrier Ethernet network topologies is a strong advantage.
  • Ideally experienced in pre-sales roles within Tier 1 Service providers such as Claro, Telefónica, Tigo, or Enel.
