Pond & Company in Bogotá, Colombia is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer specializing in data center infrastructure to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will design and deliver mission-critical cooling and mechanical systems, collaborating across disciplines to ensure resilient, efficient facilities.

This role requires Revit proficiency, strong data center project experience, and effective communication in English and Spanish.

Formación

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related piping-focused design
• 5+ years of plumbing/piping design, including data center or mission-critical projects
• Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Cadworx, AutoCAD Plant 3D, Inventor
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination in English and Spanish

Responsabilidades

• Design mechanical systems for data centers and other mission-critical facilities (plumbing, piping, supporting infrastructure).
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and telecom disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews, design reviews and QA processes.
• Support construction administration: RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, issue resolution.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders; ensure codes and best practices are followed.

Pond is seeking an experienced Plumbing / Piping Designers or Drafters (proficient in Revit) with Data Center experience to join our growing team in Bogotá, Colombia. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and delivery of mission-critical mechanical systems for hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centers. This individual will play a key role in developing efficient, resilient, and sustainable cooling and mechanical infrastructure that supports continuous operations in critical environments.

The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams throughout all phases of project delivery, from planning and conceptual design through construction support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems for data centers and other mission-critical facilities, including plumbing, piping and support infrastructure.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical, structural, civil, architectural, and telecommunications disciplines.
• Participate in model reviews, design reviews and quality assurance processes.
• Support construction administration activities including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders throughout project execution.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, Plant Design / Process Plant Design, Industrial Design (focused on piping systems).
• 5+ years of plumbing/piping design, including direct involvement in data center or mission-critical facility projects.
• Proficiency with engineering and design software such as Revit, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of Cadworx, AutoCad Plant 3d, Inventor or similar platforms.
• Strong communication and interdisciplinary coordination skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
• Professional-level proficiency in English and Spanish.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license, Colombian professional registration, or ability to obtain licensure.
• Experience supporting hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or large-scale cloud data center developments.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE Thermal Guidelines, ASHRAE standards, International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Building Code (IBC), and applicable local regulations.
• Experience with liquid cooling technologies, high-density computing environments, and emerging data center cooling solutions.
• Familiarity with BIM/Revit workflows and multidisciplinary coordination processes.
• Experience working with international clients and globally distributed project teams.
