Descripción de la vacante

The Nuclear Company is seeking a Siting Engineer to act as the technical owner of a site through its full development life cycle, from FEL 0 handoff to readiness for construction. You will work with Origination during screening and qualification, then carry the site through characterization, licensing, and design integration within a stage-gate framework.

The role requires hands-on field investigation experience, strong technical writing, and travel to project sites on a regular basis.

Formación

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Nuclear Engineering, or related discipline (Master's preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in power plant or large industrial facility siting, site characterization, or site licensing/environmental work.
  • Working knowledge of 10 CFR Parts 50, 52, and 100, and NRC Regulatory Guides 7, 1.91, and 1.23.
  • Hands-on experience scoping or executing field investigation programs (geotechnical, hydrological, meteorological, or seismic).
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience producing licensing-grade or investor-grade documentation.

Responsabilidades

  • Origination Support & FEL 0 Handoff: provide technical siting support during screening, validate candidate site packages, and own the baseline through all phases.
  • Site Characterization (FEL 1–3): scope and manage geotechnical, geological, seismological, hydrological, and ecological investigations; operate meteorological monitoring programs; maintain GIS datasets and land control.
  • Licensing & Environmental Support: prepare ESP and COL inputs under 10 CFR Part 52; provide siting inputs to Environmental Reports and respond to NRC requests.
  • Construction Transition: translate site characterization into construction readiness; assist with permitting and geotechnical baseline reports.
  • AI & Technology: leverage GIS and data analytics; maintain siting dashboards and data continuity.
