Job summary

The Buena Vista Public Library seeks a Library Supervisor to lead frontline staff, mentors, and volunteers. You will oversee daily service operations, scheduling, training, and policy adherence to ensure a welcoming, safe, and productive environment for all patrons.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, facility maintenance coordination, and volunteer program development, with a focus on customer service and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Two years of library service or related experience.
• Two to four years of supervisory experience.
• Experience teaching, training or mentoring others.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and delegation abilities.
• Ability to prioritize and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead frontline staff and volunteers to deliver excellent library services.
• Prepare weekly floor and monthly staff schedules and ensure coverage.
• Interview candidates and onboard staff; provide ongoing training.
• Maintain facility cleanliness, safety, and policy compliance.
• Coordinate exhibits, displays, and room reservations for patrons.
• Coordinate volunteers and recognition programs; communicate schedules.
