The da Vinci Academy seeks a Library Services Coordinator to organize and maintain the school library, assist students and teachers, and manage book checkout processes.

You will update the catalog, prepare displays, support with inter-library loans, and help foster a welcoming, resourceful learning environment. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to student-centered service are essential.

Performs activities related to coordinating a library within a school building and may include shelving books and materials, updating library information, checking out books and materials, and assisting students/volunteers in using the library. Provides support to librarian.

  • Reports consistently for work as scheduled
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Assists students in finding materials and books in the library
  • Assists teachers in locating materials for classroom, and assembles materials for teachers' use as directed
  • Assists with development and coordination of activities to introduce patrons to the library
  • Attends meetings as required
  • Checks books in and out with students
  • Conducts library skills sessions for students
  • Creates special displays for library, such as holiday displays, and special events to stimulate student interest
  • Enters information into computer on new books
  • Maintains computer records of library books, magazines, materials, patrons, and other information
  • Maintains library, shelves books, and keeps library materials, shelves, and work areas organized
  • Maintains student files, updating information as appropriate
  • Mends and repairs books as needed
  • Operates the network system in the building
  • Prepares bulletin boards in the library
  • Processes all inter-library loans
  • Processes and contacts students and staff regarding overdue notices
  • Provides reference assistance to students and staff
  • Schedules the rooms in the library
  • Updates and maintains computerized catalog and labels for all new books
  • Works with students in one-to-one and group situations
