Salvatech in Colombia (remote) seeks a Lead Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across up to three engineering PODs for a large security remediation program with a US healthcare payments partner. You will set standards, guide remediation strategy, triage findings, and ensure consistent quality across teams in a hybrid AWS/on-premises environment using Java and .NET.

Formación

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience, with strong experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, application security, or security remediation.
• Advanced English level (spoken and written).
• Proven experience leading multiple engineers or concurrent workstreams at once through standards, delegation, and review rather than doing all the work directly.
• Breadth across the estate the PODs cover: AWS + on-premises infrastructure and a Java/.NET application context, enough to triage and direct both infrastructure and application findings.
• Strong security-remediation judgment. Able to distinguish architectural fixes from local ones, set the pattern, and defend the call.
• Track record of setting technical standards other engineers follow, and holding a consistent quality bar across a team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication; comfortable as the senior technical interface to a client.
• Change-management and release-coordination experience.
• Able to context-switch and prioritize across parallel teams without losing consistency.

Responsabilidades

• Lead technical direction across up to three concurrent engineering PODs.
• Set triage, sizing, and prioritization standards across the PODs; oversee the finding queues and adjudicate high-impact issues.
• Make proper-fix versus configuration-change calls and set technical direction across PODs.
• Direct, review, and unblock each POD's engineers and maintain a high quality bar.
• Keep remediation standards consistent across PODs and coordinate across patterns.
• Define change-control and remediation-evidence standards and approve higher-risk changes.
• Balance work across PODs with client release cycles and collaborate with the Service Delivery Lead.
• Serve as senior technical contact to the client's application and platform owners; escalate architectural questions.
• Track remediation progress, risk, and reporting across PODs for client and leadership.

Role Summary

We are looking for a Lead Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across multiple engineering teams supporting a large-scale security remediation program for a leading U.S. healthcare payments and revenue-cycle software company. This role will oversee up to three engineering PODs working across a hybrid technology environment that includes AWS, on-premises infrastructure, Java, and .NET applications. The Lead Engineer will establish technical standards, guide remediation strategy, prioritize findings, review high-impact issues, and ensure consistent quality across PODs. This is a technical leadership and oversight role, rather than a position focused on executing individual remediation tickets.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical direction across up to three concurrent engineering PODs.
• Set triage, sizing, and prioritization standards across the PODs; oversee the finding queues and personally adjudicate high-impact, cross-cutting, or ambiguous findings.
• Make the proper-fix versus configuration-change call and set technical direction consistently across all PODs.
• Direct, review, and unblock each POD's engineers (senior SRE, infrastructure, application); hold a consistent quality bar across the cluster.
• Keep remediation approach and standards consistent across PODs, and coordinate where findings or patterns span more than one POD.
• Define change-control and remediation-evidence standards for the PODs and approve higher-risk changes; day-to-day change execution sits with the PODs.
• Sequence and balance work across the PODs against the client's release cycles, in partnership with the Service Delivery Lead.
• Serve as the senior technical point of contact to the client's application and platform owners; elevate architectural questions to client staff engineers.
• Track remediation progress, risk, and technical reporting across the PODs for client and Egen leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional engineering experience, with strong experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, application security, or security remediation.
• Advanced English level (spoken and written).
• Proven experience leading multiple engineers or concurrent workstreams at once through standards, delegation, and review rather than doing all the work directly.
• Breadth across the estate the PODs cover: AWS + on-premises infrastructure and a Java/.NET application context, enough to triage and direct both infrastructure and application findings.
• Strong security-remediation judgment. Able to distinguish architectural fixes from local ones, set the pattern, and defend the call.
• Track record of setting technical standards other engineers follow, and holding a consistent quality bar across a team.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication; comfortable as the senior technical interface to a client.
• Change-management and release-coordination experience.
• Able to context-switch and prioritize across parallel teams without losing consistency.
• Able to sustain strong daily overlap with US business hours to run the client relationship and coordinate the PODs.
• Experience running remediation or delivery programs at scale leading a shared team across three PODs is effectively program leadership.
• Familiarity with the security-scanning ecosystem that feeds the finding queues across both layers, CSPM and vulnerability scanners (infrastructure) and SAST / DAST / SCA (application).

Nice To Have

• Healthcare or other regulated-industry delivery experience (HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI DSS, SOC 2).
• Prior consulting or client-facing delivery-leadership experience.
• Experience leading distributed engineering teams, including across time zones and the US client interface.
• Depth in both infrastructure and application security (rather than one).
• Relevant senior certifications (AWS Professional / Security – Specialty, CISSP, or similar)
