Job summary

Rankings.io is seeking an Editorial Designer to own the design and production of PIM Magazine—from concept through final publication. This is a remote independent contractor role, collaborating with our US-based team, with strong English communication and availability for US Central or Eastern Time hours.

You’ll shape editorial direction, develop layout concepts, and deliver a polished magazine that reflects a cohesive visual language across all sections.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional graphic design with editorial/publication focus.
• Portfolio with magazine or long-form work.
• Advanced InDesign proficiency; Photoshop/Illustrator skills.
• Ability to work remotely and independently.
• Excellent typography, hierarchy, and layout skills.

Responsibilities

• Own design from concept to final production.
• Define visual direction with Creative Manager.
• Translate concepts into visual experiences.
• Design covers, feature stories and departments.
• Create typographic, photographic, and graphic layouts.
• Maintain consistency while evolving the visual language.
• Build and maintain InDesign files, grids, and styles.
• Lead revisions and ensure print-ready files.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, photographers, and others.
• Present concepts and incorporate feedback.
