Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Data Software Engineer to build scalable data platforms powering analytics and reporting across the organization. You will guide data pipeline and warehouse development, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to raise engineering standards.

Responsibilities include designing end-to-end data pipelines, implementing scalable data management systems, and automating workflows with Python while ensuring data integrity and security for production use cases.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience delivering production data pipelines.
• Leadership experience guiding technical decisions and mentoring engineers.
• Project delivery experience with cross-functional data initiatives.
• Advanced SQL skills with complex queries and performance tuning.
• Strong database knowledge and Python for data processing.
• Upper-Intermediate English (B2) proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data management systems and end-to-end data pipelines.
• Build and optimize datasets, storage, and retrieval patterns.
• Develop complex SQL procedures and scripts for transformation and access.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and availability in production.
• Coordinate with data architects and IT partners to align on goals.
• Drive data warehouse strategy focused on scalability and performance.
• Automate data processing and integration workflows with Python.
• Validate data for BI and reporting use cases.
