DDN seeks a Lab Systems Administrator to ensure the setup, maintenance, security and daily operation of a technical/research lab environment. You will manage servers, storage, networking, virtualization, and provide support to researchers while enforcing policies, maintaining documentation, and coordinating lab resources.

The role emphasizes strong Linux admin skills, scripting, monitoring, and hardware awareness to maintain high availability and performance of lab infrastructure.

Formación

• Experience managing Linux-based lab environments (Ubuntu/RHEL/CentOS).
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, LACP).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage and HPC file systems.
• Automation scripting with Bash or Python.
• Familiarity with virtualization/containerization (KVM, Docker) and monitoring tools.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and maintain lab hardware, software, and OS images for high availability.
• Manage user access, accounts, and permissions across lab systems.
• Monitor health, performance, and capacity (CPU, memory, storage, network).
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate vendor RMAs.
• Maintain docs: network diagrams, asset inventories, baselines, SOPs.
• Enforce security policies including patching and access controls.
• Manage backups, DR procedures, and data retention.
• Assist researchers with environment provisioning for experiments.
• Track licensing and hardware lifecycle from procurement to decommission.
• Coordinate lab scheduling and resource allocation.
