Job summary

Princess Cruises is seeking a Jr Waiter for The Seven Seas Group aboard the Seven Seas ship in Colombia. The fixed-term contract location is aboard and involves Restaurant duties, reporting to a Waiter, with a focus on guest-centric service.

You will greet guests, learn menus, assist with service, and uphold USPH standards while delivering a memorable voyage experience. Fluency in English and prior hotel/restaurant experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a recognized catering/hotel management program preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of restaurant service experience on a cruise ship or four-star hotel.
• Knowledge of food, beverage, and wine menus used across the fleet.
• Fluent English, strong communication and guest-service skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in Front and Back of House.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, professional greeting and maintain a clean appearance.
• Engage guests throughout service and anticipate needs.
• Identify guest preferences and tailor service accordingly.
• Set tables and maintain service stations to company standards.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and ensure guest satisfaction.

Jr Waiter - The Seven Seas Group

Reporting To: Waiter

Key Responsibilities

• Provides a positive first impression to every guest through a warm, welcoming individual greeting; always maintains a clean and professional appearance.
• Nurtures a lasting connection with every guest by always showing genuine interest during service and remaining fully engaged throughout the voyage.
• Always observes and identifies guest preferences and adjusts service accordingly, anticipating guest’s needs and offering appropriate responses without the guest having to ask.
• Assists the Waiter to create a comfortable, elegant ambiance by always preparing table settings and maintaining service stations in line with all Company standards.
• Assists the Waiter to deliver food and beverages as requested, on time, in the correct service order, follows up to ensure each guest’s needs have been met and suggests solutions to any issues.
• Always follows all Company guidelines, policies, and procedures, including USPH protocols.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• Graduate of a recognized Catering / Hotel Management School preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of restaurant service experience from four-star hotel or cruise ship
• Knowledge of food, beverage and wine menus used throughout the fleet
• Able to adequately explain pricing, food, wine, and cocktail menus to guests
• Ability to work under pressure, in both Front and Back of House areas
• Necessary computer skills and knowledge of P.O.S. systems
• Command of the English language, both verbal and written
