Job summary

SoftwareOne is seeking an AIX Platform Specialist to manage IBM AIX environments and Power Systems in a hybrid workplace in Colombia. You will ensure availability, security, and performance across enterprise systems.

Responsibilities include administering AIX OS, managing LPARs, applying patches, and monitoring capacity to proactively resolve issues. Collaboration with an infrastructure and platform services team is essential.

Qualifications

• Professional in systems engineering or related field with solid experience in administration and support of IBM AIX environments.
• Experience with IBM Power Systems and LPAR management is required.
• Knowledge of storage concepts, SAN, multipathing and volume management is expected.
• Experience in user management, access controls and security in enterprise OS environments.

Responsibilities

How a day to day would look like in this role

• Administer and support IBM AIX environments, ensuring availability, stability, and compliance with operational standards.
• Administer Logical Partitions (LPARs) and resources within IBM Power Systems environments.
• Perform operating system patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation activities.
• Monitor platform performance, conduct capacity analysis, and proactively troubleshoot infrastructure issues.

What we need to see from you

• Profesional en ingeniería de sistemas o carreras afines con experiencia sólida en administración y soporte de entornos IBM AIX.
• Conocimiento de IBM Power Systems y gestión de LPARs.
• Entendimiento de conceptos de almacenamiento, entornos SAN, multipathing y administración de volúmenes.
• Conocimiento en gestión de usuarios, accesos y controles de seguridad en sistemas operativos empresariales.
