Engineering Technician (Production) Grade A Fire Control Systems: Electronician : Department Of Defence – CareerVacancies.co.za

The South African Navy is recruiting for three (3) Electronic Engineering Technicians to be based at Naval Base Durban. This is a permanent public service position with an annual salary range of R391,671 to R418,332.

The role requires a National Diploma in Engineering (or relevant qualification) coupled with three years of post-qualification technical experience. Mandatory requirements include compulsory registration with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technician and a valid driver’s license.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the planned maintenance, repair, and testing of electronic systems and equipment. Key duties involve interpreting technical drawings, maintaining service records, ordering spares, and ensuring compliance with the Occupational Safety Act. Essential skills include technical report writing, proficiency in computer-aided technical applications, project management, and problem-solving.

Requirements

• National Diploma in Engineering or relevant qualification
