BairesDev is hiring a Backend Engineer specializing in Elixir. You will build real-time, scalable backends using Phoenix, Ecto and PostgreSQL while leveraging OTP patterns for fault tolerance. This fully remote role emphasizes functional programming and high-availability systems.

You'll work with the global Top 1% tech talent and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver distributed production systems, while enjoying flexible hours and competitive compensation in USD or local currency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in Backend Engineering with a focus on functional programming.
• Proven expertise with Elixir and the Phoenix framework.
• Deep understanding of OTP, GenServers and BEAM.
• Strong experience with Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Experience building interactive features with LiveView.
• Excellent English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend services and APIs using Elixir and Phoenix.
• Implement data persistence and complex queries with Ecto and PostgreSQL.
• Build real-time features with Phoenix LiveView and OTP patterns.
• Architect concurrent systems with GenServers and supervision trees.
• Optimize performance and maintainability through FP best practices.
