Director, Project Management (Remote - US)

The Director of Project Management will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing project management function that drives clarity, efficiency, and accountability across all initiatives. This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on project oversight, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and at the highest quality. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including finance, client services, creative, strategy, technology, and analytics—to optimize workflows, resource allocation, and project outcomes. Responsibilities
  • Lead and implement project management methodologies, tools, and best practices to enhance delivery and operational efficiency
  • Ensure projects are scoped accurately, resourced appropriately, and executed on time, on budget, and to high standards
  • Track project health, utilization, and profitability in collaboration with finance, client services, and leadership
  • Build, mentor, and develop a team of project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Oversee resource management and capacity planning, aligning talent to project needs while optimizing efficiency
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership, providing insights on project forecasting, workflow improvements, and cross-team collaboration
  • Support financial forecasting and contribute to workforce planning in partnership with HR and department leads
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in project management leadership within advertising, marketing, or professional services environments
  • 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare marketing project management, including product launches
  • 3+ years managing and developing project management teams
  • Proven experience building or scaling a project management function, ideally as an early hire
  • Strong understanding of agency operations, including scoping, budgeting, resourcing, and reporting
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills across creative and business functions
  • Comfort balancing strategic leadership with hands-on project involvement
  • Proficiency with project management and resource planning tools (e.g., Wrike, Asana, Workfront, Float) and advanced Excel skills
